Los Llaneros (yah-NEH-ros) perform the highly energetic and sometimes haunting  music of the grasslands of Colombia and Venezuela. ​

 

This culturally unique art form evolved from the contact between nomadic Indians and Spanish settlers starting 500 years ago.  

 

Llanero music is cowboy music intimately intertwined with the lifestyle  and the natural environment of these grasslands.
